Profile & handle

Your profile stores your public identity on SongChart — your name, avatar, @handle, and whether your songs and setlists are visible to others.

Opening your settings

Navigate to your profile page by clicking your name or avatar in the sidebar. Once there, click the Settings tab to open your account settings.

Name & avatar

Profile photo

Upload a photo or avatar that appears next to your name across the app. Tap the avatar in your settings to upload a new image.

First & last name

Your display name across the app. This is separate from your @handle — it can contain spaces and any characters you like.

Your @handle

Your handle is your unique identifier on SongChart. It appears in your public profile URL (songchart.app/u/yourhandle) and is shown when you share songs or setlists.

Handle rules

3–30 characters. Letters, numbers, hyphens, and underscores only. As you type, SongChart checks availability in real time and shows whether the handle is available, taken, or invalid.

Handles can be changed
Unlike team slugs, your handle can be updated at any time. If you change it, your old profile URL will no longer work — update any links you've shared.

Profile visibility

Toggle Make profile public to control whether your profile page is visible to anyone with the link.

Public — your profile page shows your public songs and setlists. Anyone with your profile URL can view it.

Private (default) — your profile page is not accessible. Songs and setlists marked as public are still accessible via direct link, but won't be listed on your profile.
