Setlists
Adding songs to a setlist
Songs are added to setlists as specific arrangements. You can then apply per-service overrides for key, mode, and display settings without altering the underlying song or arrangement.
Opening the song picker
From the setlist edit page, click Add Songs. A panel opens showing your song library — or your team's library if you're editing a team setlist.
Use the search box to find a song by title or artist. Click a song to expand it and see its available arrangements.
Choosing an arrangement
Every song added to a setlist is tied to a specific arrangement — the arrangement determines the default key, section order, and repeat counts for that performance.
Select an arrangement
If a song has multiple arrangements, they're listed when you expand the song. Click the arrangement you want to add it to the setlist.
No arrangements yet?
If a song has no arrangements, a button lets you add it using a default arrangement — one that includes all sections in their canonical order, with no overrides.
Per-service overrides
After adding a song, you can customize how it appears for this specific service without changing the arrangement itself.
Click any song row in the setlist to open its settings:
Key Override
Transpose the song to a different key for this service. Overrides the arrangement's key. The key badge on the song row updates to reflect this.
Mode Override
Major or minor. Defaults to the arrangement's mode setting.
NNS (Numbers)
Force Nashville Number System display for this song in the live session, regardless of the song-level or account setting.
Notes
A free-text note visible to all participants during the live session — e.g., "Start softly" or "Repeat chorus until signal".
Key resolution priority
When displaying a song's key, SongChart uses the most specific override available:
Service override (set on the setlist song row)
highestArrangement key override
Song's original key
lowestReordering songs
Drag the handle on any song row to change its position in the setlist. The order is saved automatically. Song numbers update in real time.
Removing a song
Hover a song row to reveal the trash icon, or open the song's settings panel and click Remove. This removes the song from the setlist only — the song and its arrangement are not affected.
